The Game Awards has been and gone for another year and it was another pretty memorable show that will surely stand out as one of the most dominant performances from a game for years to come, as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took home a record nine prizes.
Outside of some deserved developers getting their flowers, we also got a ton of exciting announcements for upcoming games, that could well be up for some awards of their own when the event rolls around again next year.
Lara Croft fans went home happy, as we got confirmation of two new games in 2027’s fresh adventure Tomb Raider: Catalyst and a reimaging of the first ever game in the series with remake Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.
Star Wars fans were the other big winners on the night, also getting a first look at two upcoming releases. The first is the realistic pod racer we have always dreamed of, titled Star Wars: Galactic Racer, while the other is an ambitious project from the same director who headed up the brilliant Knights of the Old Republic, returning to the sam era in Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic.

That news caused thoughts to turn towards another official Star Wars project that has been quiet for some time, and one which fans are desperate to hear more about.
Star Wars: Eclipse is Still in Active Development

Over on Reddit, one Star Wars fan asked the community what happened to Detroit: Become Human developer Quantic Dream’s adaptation, Star Wars Eclipse.
Happily, back in October, the CEO of the company David Cage explained that the game is still in active development, though the studio is now working on an unannounced multiplayer title at the same time.
Fans aren’t convinced though, as the comments under the post made abundantly clear.
“Feels like KOTOR. They're just saying it's in development every year to keep hope up. I'm not holding out any hope. For me the project is dead,” one comment read.
"There's no way a studio that was stating they had an employee shortage and were having serious issues in recruiting and retention, are able to split work between two AAA games both in genres they've never worked in. Eclipse is dead,” another added.
Eclipse was itself originally announced at The Game Awards, all the way back in 2021, but given that we have heard almost nothing since then, it is starting to get quite worrying.
The game is supposed to feature a signature branching narrative, set in the High Republic era. It’s absolutely a period I want to see more of, so I’m keeping everything crossed that they have been cooking something special up in secret.
