Grand Theft Auto fans got some good news last night when Take-Two Interactive confirmed the next game is still on track for launch day.
On 19 November Grand Theft Auto VI will be released to the world after years of waiting, leaks and theories galore.
However on launch day a large portion of gamers will be left behind as Take-Two made no mention of the game’s PC port, basically confirming it’s still in the pipeline.
This isn’t a huge surprise as when Rockstar Games first announced the title it only mentioned Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 as supported platforms.

That’s not to say the PC will be ignored entirely, it just means the port will arrive sometime after launch.
Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 also launched on console before their PC counterparts saw a release.
While this will be disappointing for many I think most PC players own at least one console so that should be fine.
The PC port will likely be enhanced too making it worth grabbing for the second time, especially when modders get a hold of it.
The big question though is if the PC version of GTA VI won’t drop in November 2026, when can we expect it?

GTA V launched on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on 17 September 2013, which makes me feel a little sick to be honest with you, we’re getting old.

The PC port was eventually released on 14 April 2015 after some delays, a huge gap between the two versions.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 26 October 2018, and didn’t see a PC port until 5 November 2019.
Now that’s not as big of a gap as we saw with GTA V, but it’s still pretty substantial.
Given the sheer size and scale of GTA VI we can’t expect that PC port overnight, and we’re Rockstar Games to spend the first few months of the game’s launch bug fixing and enhancing.
Based on this it feels like a safe bet to say the GTA VI PC port will launch sometime in November 2027 at the earliest.
Perhaps it’ll launch alongside the next iteration of GTA: Online as well?
That really sucks, but it’s just the way Rockstar Games operates and ultimately it’ll be for the best as it’ll give the devs time to ensure the PC port is as good as it can be.
