GTA 6 map leak points to multiple expansions and a constantly growing world

It’s another day which means it’s another round of Grand Theft Auto VI rumours.

Ever since Rockstar Games announced in February 2022 that it is working on GTA VI, official news has been very quiet indeed. Fans have had to make do with a seemingly endless flow of rumours and speculation.

In terms of the key rumours, it is reported that GTA VI will feature two playable protagonists named Jason and Lucia, inspired by the infamous crime duo, Bonnie and Clyde. It is also reported that GTA VI will take us back to the Miami-inspired Vice City. Oh, and we’ve had those gameplay leaks too, which were taken from a very early build of the game.

At this point, it’s been well over a year since Rockstar Games made its GTA VI announcement and fans will be hoping that official details such as a release date and gameplay will arrive in the coming months. That being said, during a recent investor call, Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-Two Interactive suggested that GTA VI could be released by March 2025.

In the latest Grand Theft Auto VI rumours, it seems that the game's massive map could have multiple expansions as well as being a constantly evolving world.

“GTA VI will reportedly feature an ever-evolving map as Rockstar plans to update the game over time, adding new cities on a regular basis with Vice City being the main setting,” tweeted GTAVInewz.

The image of the alleged map which was shared in the tweet featured locations such as not only Vice City but also Los Santos, Liberty City, Redwood County, Carcer City (the location of Manhunt) and much more.

Of course, it’s worth noting that the above image could be a mere mock-up and has no relevance to what the actual map of GTA VI will look like come release. It’s perhaps also worth keeping in mind that if this map is real, we don’t know whether its evolving nature will be associated with a single player campaign or a new version of GTA Online. Only time will tell.

Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
