This Grand Theft Auto 5 alternate ending is hilariously wholesome

An AI-generated ending for GTA V has the wholesome twist we never knew we needed.

Grand Theft Auto is not what many would consider to be a wholesome series. That’s a word better associated with games like Animal Crossing, Kirby, or others that feel like a warm hug whenever you play them. GTA doesn't tend to prompt that sort of feeling.

However, a new alternate ending for GTA V, generated by AI, has a surprisingly heartwarming twist that we never knew we needed. Shared by GrimNikeBoy on the r/GrandTheftAutoV subreddit, ChatGPT’s re-write of Rockstar’s iconic 2013 title sees Michael, Franklin and Trevor leave their life of crime behind them and open a legitimate security company together, using their old connections and experiences.

While you’re here, check out some of the funniest wins and fails from GTA V below.

“As their business grows, the three friends become respected members of society and use their newfound wealth and influence to give back to the community,” GrimNikeBoy’s AI-generated plot reads. “They create job training programs for at-risk youth and support various charitable organisations.

“Michael, Franklin, and Trevor’s newfound success and redemption brings them closer together and they form a strong bond as friends and business partners. They look back on their criminal past with regret, but are grateful for the lessons they learned and the opportunities they now have to make a positive impact on the world,” it continues. “As the game closes, the three friends sit in their luxurious office, overlooking the city they once terrorised, proud of the legacy they are creating and the lives they are changing for the better.”

Why is that so sweet?! As some pointed out in the Reddit thread, this wholesome twist isn’t actually fully out of character for Trevor, who, according to some dialog in GTA Online, actually became a lifestyle coach after the events of GTA V. Love that for him.
