An upcoming remaster for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is aiming to restore cut content to the game.
Originally released in 2004, San Andreas was likely the first GTA game you played if you’re of a certain age.
For many years it was the most popular entry in the series due to its large open world, deep narrative, and sandbox elements, and to this day is still usually at the top of many people’s rankings.

It was remastered several times over the years, with the most recent official port being the Definitive Edition in 2021, which saw negative reception due to poor quality models, glitches, and lighting issues.
San Andreas fans need not worry though, as a new mod for the game is in development, titled Grand Theft Auto: Recall San Andreas.
The main aim of this mod is to bring back content left on the cutting room floor. This includes cut characters, missions, cars, and other features from the beta version to deepen the experience.
Recall will also feature new gameplay options, bug fixes, and visual improvements.

It’ll effectively be a new remaster for San Andreas, which might be a welcome addition for anyone disappointed by the Definitive Edition.
There’s no confirmed release date for Recall San Andreas, but the mod creators intend for it to release later this year.
I guess it’ll at least hold us over until GTA 6 launches next year, as long as the project doesn’t see any delays. It looks like the team is taking care to ensure the project is of a high quality, so it’ll be ready when it’s ready.
If you’re a big fan of GTA: San Andreas, it looks like it should be worth the download when it launches.
