We’re just months away from the next Grand Theft Auto game and excitement from players is more than justifiable.
What’s not so justifiable however, is some would-be GTA VI players drafting written contract agreements preventing their partners from interacting with them while they’re playing the game in November. The wider Grand Theft Auto community has understandably put it on blast.
This bizarre example of fan devotion was shared on Reddit by dontfwithme99, but isn’t from the source itself. We had a search around the subreddits but couldn’t find the original poster, so perhaps it’s been deleted.
In the picture provided, a couple pose with a printed out copy of a “Contract Agreement”, with signatures from both at the bottom of the page.

Stipulations included the Grand Theft Auto player being able to play GTA VI “as much as I want” and restrictions on what their partner can say during the game’s more challenging moments. For instance, “it’s just a game” is a banned phrase.
Physical affection is also off the table whilst an in-game mission is active.
The contract also states that if the girlfriend contributes £40 or more towards a copy of the game, one of the stipulations can be stripped from the agreement.
Obviously this is just a big meme, or at the very least we’re hoping it is. It’s at least taken our minds off that disastrous pre-order announcement from last week. Many fans are still in uproar over how Rockstar Games has differentiated between the standard and ultimate edition of GTA VI.

That being said, this silly contract goof has given them an outlet to vent some of that frustration, either by playing into the bit or roasting it into oblivion.
“It's so telling that her signature looks normal and his looks like a child signed it,” said radaradu1.
“This is probably a hot take on reddit but i think these kind of 'contract' things are so weird and childish,” added TobeyDE.
Weirdly, this isn’t the only instance of a GTA VI contract being shared online. We found another post from a year ago with a “Relationship Agreement” you can print out yourself should you need it. This one is a little more professional.
All of this is, hopefully, all in good fun. Millions of fans around the world are counting down the days till GTA VI’s launch and stuff, and it’d be an understatement to say the wait hasn’t made everyone a bit nutty.
Hopefully no one is actually going to be taking these imaginary legal agreements seriously when the game releases on November 19. It’d be a shame to have one of the biggest game launches of the decade spoiled by breakups en masse…
