While Grand Theft Auto VI isn’t as pricey as many gamers feared, that doesn’t mean there’s no interest in securing a discount.
In the months leading up to the opening of GTA VI’s pre-orders, analysts claimed that the game could charge as much as $100.
You can nab GTA VI’s Ultimate Edition for $99.99, but the Standard Edition is in line with industry standards at $79.99.
One clever fan, though, has surfaced with advice on how you can secure as much as a 15% discount.
Reddit user kkaylumm recommended purchasing PlayStation Store gift cards using the website Eneba.

Using the discount code ‘FINALLY’, the user managed to nab £90 worth of PlayStation gift cards for £74.96.
They could then use the £90 worth of PlayStation Credit to place a purchase for GTA VI on the PlayStation Store, spending around 15% less than the average gamer.
This won’t be the only offer on PlayStation gift cards out there. Shopping around should unearth discounts both for the UK and US markets.
Alternatively, you could head over to Loaded, which is currently offering up to 10% off PlayStation gift cards and 7% off Xbox gift cards.

The original poster has been branded a “legend” by fellow fans.
“You gained nothing personally from posting this yet you did so anyway to help others, love to see stuff like this, legend,” replied one fellow GTA VI fan.

“I recommend checking deals.gg. It shows games and keys as well as gift cards on other stores that can be cheaper than Eneba,” added another.
Someone shared a similar success story, writing, “Yup, I got a $100 USD PlayStation card for $92 USD, which covered the sales tax in my state, so around $100 flat. I'll take my little $10 win lol.”
“Thanks a lot, mate! Ended up getting £90 worth of PS gift cards for £77,” read one comment, proving that this was a great piece of advice.
It goes without saying that GTA VI likely isn’t going to receive any official discounts for quite some time, so clever loopholes like this are the best way to save money.
Many gamers likely will be looking to save money, considering all of the controversies surrounding GTA VI’s pre-orders.
It’s been confirmed that physical copies will not actually feature a disc, instead containing a digital code in a box, which totally defeats the purpose of buying a physical copy, where the hope is that you actually own all of the software.

In fact, several major US retailers have boycotted sales, stating that they refuse to sell ‘code in a box’ physical games.
There’s also the fact that GTA VI’s Ultimate Edition goes well beyond featuring exclusive cosmetics, also locking story content, missions, and entire stores behind its higher price point.

Add into the mix that GTA VI hasn’t actually dropped any raw gameplay yet to assure fans that the game is as good as they’re hoping, and you can see why there’s a lot of unrest.

Hopefully, though, if gamers can secure a small discount, it might go some way towards offsetting some of these qualms and concerns.
On the plus side, securing an early copy of the game will see you unlock exclusive pre-order DLC, plus gamers will be able to pre-load GTA VI from 12 November.
GTA VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November.
