Grand Theft Auto VI will lock exclusive content behind its most expensive edition, according to Rockstar Games.
Earlier today, Rockstar Games released a new batch of buyers' information for Grand Theft Auto VI, which is set for launch on November 19, 2026.
This includes details on the different editions available to buy when pre-orders open on Thursday, as well as pre-load information.
While some cosmetics and vehicles exclusive to the more expensive editions of the game were to be expected (as is typically the case for most AAA video games released today), the Ultimate Edition for Grand Theft Auto VI also contains exclusive missions and story content.

As shown on Rockstar's website, the Ultimate Edition for Grand Theft Auto VI will feature exclusive shops like the Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's mod shops, as well as clothing stores and tattoo parlours such as Electric Fang Tattoo and Stock 305.
As the website implies, these shops simply "aren't open for business" in the standard edition of the game.

Meanwhile, Rockstar Games is also featuring two exclusive missions in the Ultimate Edition.

The first is referred to as PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store, where you can "raid the compound of one of Southside Vice City’s loudest and most socially active gangs and escape safely to score some special items and distinct contraband."
Meanwhile, the second mission references a classic car collection, where you must "track down a variety of abandoned classic and work-in-progress project cars and revitalise them to their former glory", featuring a new character called Wyman who is described as an "eccentric collector and local fixer".
Other content exclusive to the Grand Theft Auto VI Ultimate Edition includes some vehicles, such as the '95 Grotti Cheetah and '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, as well as a large number of clothing, hairstyle, and accessory cosmetics for Jason and Lucia to wear.
Locking story content behind the most expensive edition is nothing new for Rockstar. Red Dead Redemption 2's Ultimate Edition included an exclusive gang hideout and bank robbery mission, along with some bonus clothing and horse options for both single-player and online.
However, there is quite a lot of exclusive content available in the Ultimate Edition for Grand Theft Auto VI.
Buyers will hopefully get their money's worth, but we guess that Rockstar doesn't want potential customers to feel like they have to grab the most expensive edition of the game to fully enjoy it.
Grand Theft Auto VI will release for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026, with pre-loads beginning on November 12.
This gives players around a week to pre-download the game before it launches the following week, so those with weaker internet speeds have the chance to play on release day.
Unfortunately for some, physical copies won't actually feature a disc and instead a code will be provided in the box for you to download.
Rockstar has confirmed that the game will be sold for $79.99 for the Standard Edition, with the Ultimate Edition being sold for $99.99.
It says the game is being sold as "a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet."
Going by what is usually the industry standard, Performance Mode will likely enable 60fps gameplay at a lower resolution, while Quality mode may reduce the framerate while increasing the resolution and graphical quality.
