It looks like GTA VI will include two very important features at launch, and it’s something that never appeared in the original launch of GTA V.
One of the best features introduced in the ninth console generation is giving players the choice of performance and fidelity modes. This allows players to favour either an increased/smoother framerate or lower its performance in favour of a higher resolution.
When GTA V was first launched in 2013, it never featured such modes because, simply put, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles were never capable. Providing the choice of performance and fidelity was not even available in the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
However, performance and fidelity modes did make its debut in GTA V when the most recent version of the game launched in 2022 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Well, thanks to launching on the ninth-generation console, it appears that GTA VI will arrive with the two aforementioned modes.
As brought to our attention by Redditor Ph0enixes, Polish retailer Media Markt claims in an FAQ that GTA VI will have performance and fidelity modes.

“GTA VI on next-generation consoles offers two graphics modes to choose from (Performance and Quality), support for DualSense controller features on PS5, providing realistic haptic feedback vibrations, and extremely fast loading screens thanks to the power of SSD storage,” claims an FAQ.
Of course, we should take this information with a pinch of salt until Rockstar Games confirms otherwise. That being said, it’s probably safe to assume that these two modes will launch with GTA VI on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as it's pretty standard across the board.

Quite possibly. GTA V on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S not only featured performance and fidelity modes, but also a third mode. Namely, Performance RT mode.
Fidelity mode targeted 30 frames per second in a 4K resolution, improved shadow effects, and ray tracing. Whereas performance mode targeted 60fps with a reduced resolution.
As for performance RT mode, this targeted 60fps with ray-tracing but at a lower resolution. This mode was basically a balance between the other two modes, and with a bit of luck, this third option will be available once more in GTA VI. We’ll have our fingers crossed.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The PC port hasn't been announced yet, but we’re sure it will arrive at some point.
