President Donald Trump is at it again, this time sharing a GTA VI meme that has sparked utter chaos and even surpassed the recent pre-order news.

It’s fair to say that Donald Trump, who’s currently serving his second term as the President of the United States of America, is a very decisive figure. That’s putting it very mildly, but we’re not here to talk about politics…we’re here to talk about video games.

This particular video game story does relate to the recent GTA VI pre-order announcement and the White House. Which, as I write this, feels absolutely bizarre, but here we are.

Although we’re pretty sure it’s a social media manager at the Oval Office rather than the POTUS posting these memes, I’m sure the president is at least aware of some. That being said, this latest social media post related to Rockstar Games’ GTA VI has caused more of a fracas than most.

Yes, the White House Has Really Posted a GTA VI Meme

By now, we’re all probably aware of the “We got [enter name] before GTA VI” meme. Well, the person in charge of social media at the White House has posted: “We really saved America before GTA 6”.

The tweet is accompanied by an AI-generated parody of the GTA VI box art, featuring Donald Trump, the White House, the Washington Monument, Air Force One, and a Stealth Bomber. As you can imagine, the comment section has gone into an absolute meltdown.

“When the actual government starts sh*tposting like a gaming meme page, you know reality is broken,” replied TheBlueWave2026.

“We got the White House making memes about GTA VI before GTA VI, tweeted Adam_On_X_

“You guys just have to ruin EVERYTHING, don’t you?” exclaimed FBlancs27065.

Those are just a few of the tame replies, most of which are a tad too unsavoury to share in this article.

The White House Has a History of Video Game Memes

In March 2026, the White House used the family-friendly Wii Sports as a meme to celebrate the strikes on Iran, dubbed “Operation Epic Furry”. As you can imagine, that tweet did not go down well.

The White House social media has also made parodies of Call of Duty and even the cosy Animal Crossing, which are just two other examples. Ironically, all this social media activity kind of reminds me of the Steve Buscemi “fellow kids” meme.

Going back to the world of Grand Theft Auto VI, it will be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The inevitable PC port hasn't been announced yet. But hey, at least we got a GTA VI White House meme before the PC port.
