Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is in full-swing, but will soon come to an end when Season 4 drops.
Fortnite’s Chapter 7 Season 4 is titled Override and will introduce a variety of gaming legends to the game, such as Sonic The Hedgehog and Pac-Man.
Before the new season starts gamers are in a mad dash to collect the newest addition to the battle-royale; Sprites. These collectible creatures are seemingly here to stay, and there’s even a special John Wick variant you can find right now. Here’s everything you need to know about them and to use Lucky Locators to track the ones you’re missing down.
What are Lucky Locators in Fortnite?
First thing’s first, what is a Lucky Locator? Simply put, it’s an item that’ll let you locate Sprites that aren’t yet part of your collection.
How do they work?
Once you’ve got one equipped and activated you can scan the map for a Sprite Chest. These are buried underground and once opened you’ll get a Sprite you haven’t found yet, which you can then extract and keep forever.

How many Lucky Locators are available?
At the time of writing, only one Lucky Locator can be acquired per player, but Epic Games has confirmed more methods are on the way for before the current season ends.
How do I get a Lucky Locator?
Now comes the tricky part. Getting yourself a Lucky Locator requires Mastery level 50. You can attain this by mastering a grand-total of 50 Sprites found in the game.
Those that have already been grinding the Sprites since the seasons started are probably at this level already, but if you’re only just getting onboard with the new mechanic you may have some catching up to do.
It’s probably for the best that the Lucky Locator isn’t an item you can find on the map, as with 100 players per battle-royale it’d be chaos trying to grab one, and it’d probably attract the attention of griefers too.
The sprites you can get with a Lucky Locator
As said before, the Lucky Locator will grant you any Sprite you haven’t unlocked already, so use it wisely. It’s best used when you’ve only got a few left to acquire.
How to get the John Wick Sprite
Returning to the battle-royale this season is the legendary assassin John Wick, who sports a new pen and ink-style design as one of the Battle-Pass rewards.
However joining him on the island is his own custom Sprite, who’s basically a miniature version of him.
Getting the John Wick Sprite is very simple. You can find them in Fortnite Reload and they’ll either be stashed away as a random reward inside chests, or you can loot one from players who have one in their inventory.
Once you’ve grabbed one you won’t be able to extract it via normal means. Instead you’ll need a legendary item called a Reload Portable Extractor.
Like the Sprite itself this will either be looted from chests or bought from a Mending Machine.
