Fortnite is set for a major shake-up, with players to earn more V-Bucks through the Fortnite Crew subscription, but it will come at the cost of fewer skins. While the additional V-Bucks will likely be welcome news for most fans, the prospect of fewer exclusive skins may be less appealing.
Under the updated Fortnite Crew subscription, players will initially receive at least 1,000 V-Bucks each month, with that amount increasing to 1,600 V-Bucks depending on how long they have remained subscribed. The revised subscription will also introduce several other changes, although some existing benefits will remain the same.
Whatās changing with the Fortnite Crew subscription?
As first highlighted by X user, Fortnite gamer and leaker FireMonkey, and subsequently confirmed by Epic Games, this is what's changing when the updated Fortnite Crew subscription launches on December 5:
- Fortnite Crew members will receive at least 1,000 V-Bucks each month, with the monthly allowance increasing the longer they remain subscribed.
- Core | 1ā2 months: 1,000 V-Bucks. Bronze | 3ā5 months: 1,200 V-Bucks. Silver | 6ā11 months: 1,400 V-Bucks. Gold | 12+ months: 1,600 V-Bucks.
- Subscribers will also benefit from additional XP, earning a 20 percent boost when playing Fortnite, while squad members without a Crew subscription will receive a 10 percent XP boost when playing alongside them.
- Epic Games is also doing away with monthly Crew Pack Outfits, with December's release marking the end of the current system.
- There's some good news for existing subscribers, though, as anyone who owns previous Crew Packs will receive all their remaining Legacy Styles for outfits, pickaxes and backblings.

Epic Games is preparing to bring the current Chapter 1 experience to a close, with Fortnite OG Season X ending on 5 December 2026. This will also mark the end of the current OG Pass, bringing the existing Chapter 1 experience to a close.
