You’ll be able to get your hands on Rockstar Games’ classic title Grand Theft Auto III very soon at no extra cost, depending on your platform of choice…
As revealed by Sony on the official PlayStation Blog, Grand Theft Auto III will be landing on PlayStation Plus in a couple of weeks on 10 June.
Even better yet, it’s the recently released “Definitive Edition” of Grand Theft Auto III that came packaged as part of the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition compilation that dropped back in 2021.

Now some of you might be reading that and rolling your eyes, as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition wasn’t exactly in the best state when it originally dropped… to say the least.
Good news though, they fixed it! Rockstar Games actually went back and fixed most of the work that the original developers, Grove Street Games, did on the game a while back.
Thankfully, it seems they fixed basically every issue and bug the original release had, to the point that many now consider the version of Grand Theft Auto III in the re-release to truly be the “Definitive” version of the game.
Over on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit, users are excited to be able to get their hands on the upgraded version of this classic title.

“I’m taking Another Crabs Treasure and GTA III all day long,” commented user ShaneTVZ.
“Like honestly I consider GTA 3 DE a genuine upgrade over the original,” replied user Thin-Fig-8831.
“Not too mention GTA 3 DE never had that much problems to begin with (most of which being fixed).”
As Grand Theft Auto III - Definitive Edition is being added to the Games Catalogue on PlayStation, you will have to be either a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber to play it for free.

PlayStation Plus subscriptions are currently on sale though, so I suppose you could consider it a sort of two-for-one deal.
