
It took them long enough, but Rockstar Games finally dropped the second trailer for GTA VI a couple of weeks ago, and gave fans another look at the upcoming blockbuster.
However, one thing many wanted to know at the time was, just how many of the new GTA VI scenes were taken from gameplay compared to cut scenes.
Rockstar Games soon came out and said that the trailer was a mix of the two, and since then one Redditor has meticulously gone through to highlight exactly where gameplay is shown.

In their thread, they explain the breakdown by uploading the trailer with a counter and some notes detailing the split between sources.
By the end of the two minutes and 46 seconds, the user notes that it was a pretty even split - as mentioned by Rockstar Games - between gameplay and cut scenes, with 27 scenes of the former, and 26 of the latter.
In the replies, fans are thrilled to see that we got so many action-packed moments pulled directly from the gameplay as it happened.
“Rockstar is just manipulating the view to make it cinematic, but we're getting some incredible gameplay footage here,” said dbezzy1010.

“I’m so blown away that the crime scene Jason drives past towards the beginning,” comments another Redditor.
It’s no surprise that it’s hard to tell where gameplay merges with more cinematic scenes, because Rockstar Games has become a master of detail.
As this Reddit user says, “The animations have gotten so advanced,” and it’s reached a point where it’s hard to tell what’s what.
The discussion spirals into many fans pointing out incredible details and looking for hints that what we see are actions the player can take in-game.

Of course, it would be nice to see something from the traditional third-person view, but perhaps trailer three will reveal all.
