The story I’m about to break down for you is, I believe, kind of wholesome, and it concerns the launch date of GTA VI.

We all know by now that GTA VI has been delayed and will be releasing on 26 May 2026, and this means that by the time you read this, we’re less than a year away from that date.

A fan over on Reddit created a post that says simply “364 days left” and posted the game’s second trailer underneath.

It was an honest moment of celebration that a game so many have looked forward to, for many years, is finally on the way.

Of course, some are seeing this in a cynical way, perhaps thinking it’s unnecessary, but one Redditor comments, “Actually I think a countdown every day would be kind of wholesome. At first people would be annoyed but then the closer it gets and the more material gets revealed the more excited people get.”

The excitement for the game is palpable, and so many of the fans are losing their minds with glee.

“Yesterday, I almost cried explaining to my gf that in one year I'll be playing this masterpiece,” said sohleoc.

I think sometimes we lose sight of how important these games can be for players, especially those who have looked forward to playing them for years.

“One day down, we're almost there…” comments another fan.

Let’s just allow people their joy, eh? Fans like this are the ones holding up this industry.

Some are now able to eye the official launch date and plan their time, with one Redditor saying, “I'm working the Monday before it comes out, then I'm getting home and talking the rest of the week off so I can really dive into it.”

I’m glad these gamers are happy, let them have their fun, because have you seen the state of the world right now?
