If you’re someone who’s pre-ordered Hogwarts Legacy’s Deluxe Edition, it’s good news. In less than one week, you’ll finally have your hands on the game - if you’re a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC owner that is. Standard Edition folk will have to wait a few days extra, while PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch players will have to wait a few months extra, I’m afraid.
We now know Hogwarts Legacy’s file size and it’s a whopper, so you best start clearing out some room. It’s no surprise really seeing as it could take you upwards of 120 hours to see all that the game has to offer, including over 100 side quests. In recent days, we’ve also discovered that it may be impossible to respec your character’s skills so choose wisely. It’s no secret that AAA games are expensive these days, well there is a way a handful of you could grab Hogwarts Legacy for free thanks to a group of generous fans.

Over on Reddit, the moderators of the r/HarryPotterGame subreddit are currently running a giveaway where you could win one of five copies of Hogwarts Legacy’s Deluxe Edition on any platform. It’s completely free to enter, but there’s just one small catch. You have to have been active on the r/HarryPotterGame sub on or before 28 December, 2022. This could be as simple as leaving a comment, making a quick post etc. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, I’m sure this is no setback.

Announcing the giveaway, the mods wrote, “The launch of Hogwarts Legacy is right around the corner, so it’s time to celebrate with a giveaway! We can’t thank you all enough for all the fun speculation, investigating, and discussion that’s happened in this community over the past few years.” To enter, simply comment on the post with a top-level comment. In addition to being an active member of the subreddit, you also must follow subreddit rules and you cannot leave more than one comment.
You have until 4 February to enter and the five winners will then be selected via a random name selector. Fancy your chances? It might be worth knocking up a quick Felix Felicis potion.
