Hogwarts Legacy fans are divided over a huge exclusive deal that could fall into the hands of Sony PlayStation.
There was a lot of commotion surrounding the PlayStation exclusive DLC ‘Haunted Hogsmeade Shop’, and rightly so.
Even with PC and Xbox players spending the same amount of money on Hogwarts Legacy as PlayStation gamers, they were getting a lesser product. Thankfully, the DLC is now available to all, which is still beside the point.

However, exclusive DLC for the unannounced Hogwarts Legacy 2 will be the least of many concerns because there’s a distinct possibility that the full game could be exclusive to PlayStation.
How? Well, Sony is reportedly considering acquiring Warner Bros' streaming and gaming assets which includes the DC, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Mortal Kombat IPs, as reported by WCCFtech.
“Consolidation in the video game industry is getting out of hand,” exclaimed MuptonBossman, reacting to the news on Reddit. “Soon, there will be no third parties left and we'll just have Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo games and indies.”
“I hope this is true purely because WB said that it was probably done with gaming,” said MyUsernameAlex. “I read a report saying it didn’t want to produce games anymore, which is weird considering how successful Hogwarts Legacy was."

“Sony gatekeeping Harry Potter to a new generation, like they did with Spider-Man,” replied Carbone. “Classic Sony, keep on being classy.”
“Don’t do it, Sony. WHERE IS BLOODBORNE 2?” yelled one commenter.
I hope this deal does not come to fruition, mainly because, unlike Microsoft, we all know that Sony does not like to share. Having the likes of Hogwarts Legacy 2 and future Mortal Kombat entries being gatekept to a single brand does not sit right with me.
Of course, there’s every chance this deal does not come to fruition. But we’ll keep you posted if we hear of any further developments.
