God Of War players probably feel cheated that we haven’t gotten a remastered trilogy of the OG games, but this might be the next best thing.
As far as PlayStation IPs go the God Of War series is one of the company’s most-popular brands as it appeals to hack-and-slash gamers that love the original games and those who like a narrative adventure with the newer titles.
Unfortunately for whatever reason PlayStation is yet to provide us with stable and playable versions of the OG God of War titles. You can play the third game easily as it was remastered for the PlayStation 4 but for God Of War and God Of War 2 you need a subscription to PlayStation Plus Premium, and even then you can only cloud-stream the games.
While we wait for PlayStation to lock-in there’s a new game coming next year that looks like the God Of War game of our dreams, and even the OG creator of the series is hyped.

It’s called Loulan: The Cursed Sand and it looks like a bizarre but detailed hybrid of the God Of War and Prince Of Persia games.

You can catch a peek at its gameplay online and it’s gotten a lot of people excited, including original God of War director David Jaffe who regularly reacts to the latest game reveals/news on their YouTube channel.
Speaking about Loulan: The Cursed Sand, the OG God Of War creator said: “This feels like God of War basically. Like this is the God of War I would want on PS5."

A pretty glowing review if you ask us.
That said, to say this game is the first true God Of War game coming to PlayStation 5 feels a bit mean. As different as they were, the Norse God Of War games are a solid continuation of the OG trilogy.
We Could Have Returned To Greece
Aside from Loulan: The Cursed Sand David Jaffe also broke down the cancelled Bluepoint God Of War game that would have been multiplayer and set in Greece.

It’s said Sony felt like it was a risky move especially after similar failures like Concord, and now there’s speculation Bluepoint is working on a remake of the first God Of War game instead.
That’s all speculation of course but we do need the OG games more readily available on PlayStation 5, and a remake would do exactly that…
