Fallout fans desperate for a new fix should probably go and check out Starfield, the brand-new game from Bethesda. But if that's not enough post-apocalypse for you, there are other options out there.

It's hard being a Fallout fan. Fallout 4 was a huge and impressive game, but one that ultimately placed too much emphasis on action-packed shooting sequences, leaving the kind of nuanced moral decisions the series is loved for by the wayside.

Take a look at our Starfield review below!

Bethesda just released Starfield, as I'm sure you're aware, which in many ways feels like a Fallout game set in space. Of course in many other ways, it absolutely will not scratch the itch that only a Fallout game. And given Fallout 5 isn't coming until after The Elder Scrolls VI, what's a person to do?

I suppose you could go play Fallout 76, which I'm reliably informed is a much better game than it used to be. But if you're craving a single-player adventure, you'll want to turn to the modders of the world.

Webb Productions Entertainment is working on an incredible total conversion mod for Fallout: New Vegas called Fallout: The Odyssey, and has even made an amazing trailer/short film using Unreal Engine 5. The film is designed to drum up hype for the mod - which it absolutely does.

It is just worth noting that while this short film uses Unreal Engine 5, the mod itself makes use of New Vegas, and as such will more or less look like New Vegas and not an Unreal Engine 5 project. Just so your expectations are in check.

Fallout: The Odyssey takes place in Alaska during the year 2297, where the reformed Enclave is making plans for "what might be the most ambitious event in human history since the great war". Players enter the fray as a lone wanderer caught up in the Enclave's last stand against the Brotherhood of Steel.

As the official account teases: "Whether it be a good outcome for one side and total failure for the other, you will decide on this outcome."
