If you pray hard enough, it might happen. Well, that seemed to work for Nintendo fans, as after years of waiting, we're finally getting a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
While Ocarina of Time's legacy as one of the best video games of all time made it an easy target for getting a remake, some 28 years after it first arrived on the Nintendo 64, the fact that much more recent games have also been given the remake treatment gives hope to us all. Resident Evil Code: Veronica is also getting a lick of paint after what seems like an eternity of asking, while there are swirling rumours that The Simpsons: Hit & Run is getting some much-needed TLC. All we need now is for Bethesda to realise it's sleeping on Fallout in terms of remakes and remasters.

We're still scorned by Fallout: New Vegas' disappointing 15th anniversary announcement, but the fact that fans keep pumping out their own mythical remasters and expansive mods shows there's a lot of love for Obsidian Entertainment's 2010 'gamble'.

Let’s also remember that season 2 of Amazon's live-action Fallout series literally took us back to New Vegas, meaning many feel those on high have missed an opportunity to cash in on the nostalgia.
We've been burned before by rumours of a New Vegas remaster, but in a typically bizarre twist, could a toy company have spoiled the surprise ahead of time?
Over on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, r/Morichh shared a Chinese listing from McFarlane Toys for the decidedly New Vegas-themed New California Ranger 1/10 and a Scorched New California Sierra Member 1/10 figures.
This is the same McFarlane who mentioned a Fallout 3 remaster back in March, but as that is also nowhere to be seen, take all of the above with a pinch of salt.

There are questions about whether we can even remaster New Vegas, with senior designer Chris Avellone claiming the final game source code and build tools were never delivered to Bethesda. In an April 2026 interview with TKs-Mantis, Avellone mused: "Just really simply, I don’t think Bethesda has the engineering know-how to make a remaster of New Vegas at all.
Still, the idea that Bethesda could roll the dice and give New Vegas the 'Oblivion treatment' has surely crossed Todd Howard's mind.
Replying to the McFarlane post, it seems many of you are high on hopium. One fan cheered: "At this point, it seems like the rumours about it being shadowdropped grow truer by the day."
Another mused: "I mean, I don’t know why people act like they don’t know that these are both coming. Todd literally said in his last interview, in so many words, that they were 😂. Fallout 3 remaster was also on the leaked court docs."
Being a little more pragmatic, someone else concluded: "But it has not been released, so why believe this?"
Considering Fallout: New Vegas was effectively a way to stall gamer rage while they waited for Fallout 4, it's amazing to see the legacy it's cultivated. With Bethesda's 40th anniversary on June 28, this could be one to mark in the diaries.
