Fallout: New Vegas Announcement Leaves Gamers Outraged

It's easy to see why

Fallout Day has come and gone, and this year’s edition is one that’s coming under fire.

Fallout: New Vegas, one of the most beloved entries in the popular post-apocalyptic series, is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary.

Naturally, that’s an occasion that’ll be marked by both Bethesda and developer Obsidian Entertainment.

The second season of Prime Video’s Fallout TV series is also around the corner, with the upcoming outing heavily based upon Fallout: New Vegas.

As such, fans have been expecting big things.

Many hoped for a Fallout: New Vegas remaster but sadly, no such news came to light.

What Bethesda did announce though is a pricey new Anniversary Edition although all that’s new here is essentially a bunch of merchandise.

The Fallout: New Vegas 15th Anniversary Bundle features the Ultimate Edition of the game that’s been around for ages.

Purchasers will also receive a cool Victor statue, a Vault Boy pin, a Mojave Express patch, a NCR Recon patch, as well as some evaluation cards.

This is all contained with a “collector’s big box”.

Fancy getting your hands on the bundle? It’s only available on PC and it’ll set you back a whopping £139.99 / $154.99.

What are fans saying?

Needless to say, fans aren’t best pleased and for a variety of reasons.

This isn’t just a far cry from the remaster they yearned for, there’s not even a scrap of new game content here.

Then, there’s the fact that this bundle only allows you to purchase the PC version of the game.

And there’s, of course, the price.

You can, at the time of writing, purchase Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate on Steam for a measly £3.99.

That offer runs out imminently but even when you read this article, it’ll only revert back to its full price of £15.99.

Charging well over £100 for some merch is quite something.

“One hundred and fifty five US dollars for a game that is literally, with all the DLC included, $5 on Steam right now?! Bethesda have you lost your god damn minds?!” wrote Twitter/X user KungFuMan316.

“160 for a three dollar game and a seven inch toy,” wrote Reddit user 73028194.

I can’t see this one flying off the shelves.

If you do yearn to own this release though - and it'll no doubt become a coveted collector's item - you can only place a pre-order for now.

Products aren't expected to ship until June of 2026.
