Fallout 4 is one of the best RPGs from the last ten years, and its Unreal Engine remake is seriously impressive.
It’s hard to believe that Fallout 4 is now almost a decade old, and yet we’re still finding new ways to enjoy and appreciate it.
We’ve now got massively ambitious mods like Fallout: London and Krishna's Garden Of Eden keeping the community alive, as well as plenty of fan-made content that pays homage to Bethesda’s RPG.
An Unreal Engine 5 remake of Fallout 4 has also been in development by modder Ghost Design, with the developer creating a Fallout 4-style settlement using photoscanned assets to create the environment.

The result shows a settlement that looks absolutely gorgeous and close to real life. I have to particularly respect the work done on the interiors, which look realistic, lived-in, and authentic to the setting of the Fallout games.
“I created this Fallout 4 based settlement by using photoscanned assets. 95% of the assets are from Quixel/Megascans and ScansFactory,” writes Ghost Design.

“All walls, shacks, roofs, floors etc are made out of single assets/pieces from Quixel/Megascans. I hope you like it. Let me know if you would like to see more Fallout 4 settlements created with Unreal Engine 5.”
In a way, this might be a good indication of what Fallout 5 could look like on modern hardware, especially if it’s targeting a potential PS6 release.
News about the next Fallout game is still pretty light, but we have previously reported that a few new Fallout projects are allegedly in development.
According to VGC’s Jordan Middler on the Friends Per Second podcast, “there are multiple Fallout projects in development, including as far as I'm aware, the one you've all been wanting.”

Whether this is the rumoured Fallout 3 remaster, a New Vegas sequel, or Fallout 5 remains to be seen. Given the success of Amazon’s Fallout television series, I’d imagine it won’t be long until we see a new announcement.
