With thousands of players diving back into Cyberpunk 2077 since its 2.0 update and subsequent launch of its Phantom Liberty expansion, some are finding its controls a bit difficult to master.

With Cyberpunk 2077’s popularity rising again since its original launch in 2020, players are flocking back to Night City to take in all the new features. With improvements to driving as well as the addition of vehicular combat, cruising around town is one of many ways to pass time and that’s not to mention all the new weapons added with the update and expansion. However, some are finding the controls to be a bit on the laggy side.

Thankfully one Reddit user has taken to the r/PS5 page to share their technical fixes. The user explains how they are currently enjoying their second playthough of Cyberpunk 2077 but are struggling with the “lagginess” of the controls. They have worked out this is mainly due to 20% of the game’s sticks being “deadzoned” meaning they don’t register movement. This means players will have to move the analog sticks a lot harder in order to do precise movements. However, they have come up with some setting adjustments which should improve the game for console players.

“Inner deadzone 0.05, Outer Deadzone 0.95, Horizonal Sensitivity – 10, Vertical Sensitivity - 7

Horizontal/Vertical and Turning Ramp up and Delay? All zero'd out,” they wrote. Additionally, they also offer a fix for players struggling with vehicle acceleration: “In [First-Person Camera] under [Controls] it's the 'Horizontal Turning Bonus' + 'Vertical Turning Bonus' + 'Turning Ramp-Up' + 'Turning Delay.'"

For those who go onto try these settings, the Reddit post comments are filled with further recommendations. However, many claim that since the 2.0 update, the game runs a lot smoother performance wise. This is just one of many improvements CD Projekt Red made with the base game overhaul.
