Cyberpunk 2077: Project Hydra is a must-play free reimagining of the game

Night City has never looked better

Lighting and weather can make or break the aesthetic of a game, especially if you want the look of the game to match the feelings it is trying to convey.

Thanks to engines such as Unreal Engine, lighting and dynamic weather environments are becoming the norm but when it comes to older titles, they still need a bit of help.

Luckily, thanks to creators such as Skater6453, games such as Cyberpunk 2077 can look better than ever before thanks to a quick and easy lighting mod.

That is where Project Hydra comes in.

This is a free-to-download mod for Cyberpunk 2077 which aims to change the in-game lighting and weather to a variety of different looks.

Inspired by many of Cyberpunk 2077’s pre-release material, this mod is not a recreation of previous material but simply the user’s take on it.

“This is all accomplished with a massive sector and weather tuning this time around,” the mod description reads.

“As well as changes to other settings like story areas having times of day/weather cycles changed, and some environment changes that edit objects. Basically almost everything for lighting in the game from start to finish is adjusted a certain way. And so this mod is actually best used for a complete playthrough to fully see all the features in store.”

It needs no other mods to be able to work and last but not least, it is not a reshade mod and can all be installed in one easy file.

The Project Hydra mod was uploaded just yesterday and has already garnered over 200 downloads so if you are a Cyberpunk 2077 fan and play it on PC, don’t miss out on this free download.

This is just one of thousands of free mods available to download on NexusMods right now for Cyberpunk 2077 as well as other iconic RPGs.
