One of Call of Duty’s most popular maps, Nuketown, has been recreated in Unreal Engine 5 - and the results are frighteningly realistic.

What an action-packed couple of weeks it’s been for the Call of Duty franchise. We’re on the final countdown to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III which is set to be released on 10 November. The game’s ‘No Russian’ mission remake is said to be even more disturbing than the original. We recently also received our first look at the all-new open-world Zombies mode. The game’s beta period kicks off in just a couple weeks - and all can get involved. Over in the world of Warzone, it was revealed that Spawn is heading to the game. Today though, we’re here to look at a wild new fan project.

Take a look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s Zombies mode below.

As reported by Dexerto, the Nuketown map has been recreated in Unreal Engine 5, and the results are quite scary. The project is the work of indie dev duo Reissad Studio who are also the makers of recent viral hit Bodycam - a new FPS which mimics the look of real life body cam footage. The duo's recreation of the Nuketown map is very much in that vein too. It opts for a photorealistic aesthetic, with frighteningly accurate results.

Compared to the CoD map though, Reissad Studios’ iteration of Nuketown is far more, well, nuked. The duo clearly opted to show the infamous map in a more dilapidated post-apocalyptic state, with many of the buildings shown to be in total disarray. You can have a look at some gameplay footage below.

Bodycam is yet to be released, but it’s gained a ton of attention online due to the fact that its graphics clearly push the limits of photorealism.
