We are very much in gaming's remake era right now, with all of the big developers and publishers seemingly keen to get in on the proverbial party by bringing back their old classics in a new form for a fresh faced audience.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered showed how successful that template can be, releasing this year to a ton of praise from nostalgic gamers everywhere, and opening the door to more major rereleases.
One of the more persistent rumoured remakes, rather than remasters, over the last year or so, has been around a potential new version of beloved piratical adventure Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
Though Ubisoft hasn't gone as far as officially confirming it, fans have been finding clues and potential hints all over the place that, not only is it definitely coming, but that it's also releasing pretty imminently.

Now, one more revelation has seemingly tipped the rumours over the edge, all but confirming that a remake is on the way very soon indeed.

PEGI Rating May Have Spoiled the Black Flag 'Surprise'
Originally discovered by Corkben on YouTube, before being shared by major Assassin's Creed fan pages on Twitter/X, an official rating has appeared on the PEGI website for a game known as Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced.
Now, if this isn't the long awaited remake then someone is absolutely having an enormous joke at fans' expense, and we'd have to just say fair play at this point, if that was the case.
Happily, it's far more likely that the game is real and currently serving as the worst kept secret in the industry, with a full announcement likely imminent given how public it has already become.
The only place to make a big splash with an announcement this year will be at The Game Awards, which is set to take place on 11 December in Los Angeles.

The show is going to be filled with announcements for new games and updates on existing ones, making it the perfect place for a little bit of Black Flag action.
The other major mystery that's getting people all riled up right now is what exactly the enormous, demonic desert monolith relates to.
It has now been moved to LA, with leading speculation that it's there ahead of the announcement of Divinity 3 from Larian Studios.
Fingers crossed that it is something cool like that, and it's not just confirmation of a new Muppets movie set in the 7th circle of hell.
