Assassin's Creed 2 hailed as one of gaming's best stories

Assassin's Creed fans are in agreement that Assassin's Creed II is one of gaming's greatest stories, which is high praise indeed.

Here at GAMINGbible we all love a good video game story, obviously. I still remember the first time I got to the end of The Last Of Us' opening sequence and cried my eyes out for a good five minutes. And I'm not sure the ending of Red Dead Redemption 2, as Arthur rides towards camp and is hit with memories of his adventures, will ever leave me.

Assassin's Creed fans all agree that Ezio Auditore is the greatest of all the assassins, and a fair few would even suggest he's gaming's greatest protagonist. It should come as no surprise, then, that everyone adores the first game he starred in.

Assassin's Creed II is a perfect sequel. Bigger and better than the original game in every way, it gave us a much more compelling central character, and managed to up the stakes while making everything feel much more intimate and personal. It's an adventure that has stayed with fans, and continues to impress newcomers.

Fans have urged the newcomer to head to Revelations or Brotherhood next to continue Ezio's story rather than jumping straight to Assassin's Creed III, which they fully intend to do.
