Over the years there have been some amazing video game consoles, several of which have been my favourite of all time at one point or another, depending on how I'm feeling or which way the wind is blowing.
That said, the Xbox 360 is absolutely one of the ones I have spent the most time on, whiling away thousands of my teenage hours on the original Black Ops, Fallout: New Vegas and Halo: Reach.
Even from a more objective, outside standpoint, the 360 is appreciated as a very good example of a home video game console, and it's easily still the best selling console ever made by the company.
So that got me to thinking, if I could ask Santa for any game from that particular generation to get a remaster, what would it be? Well, there are plenty of contenders, but one stands above them all, as not only one of the best games on the platform, but as a release that would be uniquely timely, given the wider circumstances.

It's Time to Refresh Fable II and Bring It Back
Peter Molyneux might have developed a bit of a reputation for overpromising and underdelivering towards the tail end of his career, but, oh boy, did he and the team at the now-defunct Lionhead Studios deliver with Fable II.
The original game revolutionised what players would come to expect from the genre, but Fable II dialled in on those solid foundations and erected a beautiful monument to the action-RPG that really stands the test of time.
I recently played it from start to finish for the 900th time and there really aren't a lot of areas that need improving.
The standout area of age is clearly the visuals, which leaves the game wide open to a relatively low-effort remake on the developer's part, that still brings the game forward leaps and bounds.
The combat could do with a little tuning as well, as hit boxes can be a little janky, but the storytelling, secondary mechanics and gameplay features all hold up really well.
The narrative follows a young child called Sparrow, who lives in the land of Albion.
After he is wounded and his older sister is killed by the evil Lord Lucien, it becomes apparent that the player is a hero, who needs to recruit others to take on Lucien, holding on to that vengeance mission before setting out to complete it in adulthood.
It's a compelling enough premise, but what you'll really find yourself sticking around for is the extra, non-compulsory stuff that's just so much fun to do.
Getting married, buying property, working normal (fantasy) jobs and even having little children, a big part of the appeal of Albion is making your own life within it.
With a new Fable game on the way next year, it's the perfect time to renew interest in the series by re-releasing its high point with a new coat of paint and some fine tuning to the gameplay. If they want to throw in the first game at the same time for our troubles, that would be absolutely fine with me as well.
