Halo: Reach hasn’t lost its popularity over the years, being a masterpiece on the Xbox 360 and a masterpiece now on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
While Halo Studios has paid homage to the game in Halo: Infinite it’s clear we’re not getting any additional content for the game, nor are we getting any other spin-offs that explore its place and time in the history of Halo’s universe.
Fear not though because the game being on PC has meant players can add their own new content to the game, and it’s incredibly easy to play them yourself through the Steam Workshop.
What we’re talking about today is incredibly exciting, and something that really should have been added to the game when it was still being supported…space battles.

Halo influencer Mint Blitz has been trying out Halo Reach: Slipspace, a mod that gives players control over their very own UNSC Frigate, or Covenant Corvette.
Space combat was already in the game but for only one mission, when Noble Team were tasked with piloting a Sabre into orbit to take down a Covenant Supercarrier.
I’ve always wondered why it was never turned into a multiplayer mode. Perhaps Bungie thought it was too similar to the Star Wars: Battlefront games, or maybe it was just too difficult to implement with multiple players.
Regardless it’s here now and from gameplay alone it looks very impressive, so be sure to check it out via Steam Workshop.

It’s been a good few weeks for Halo fans especially with the surprise return of Halo 3: ODST, which recently saw a collaboration with Helldivers II that significantly boosted the playercount, though that’s also because the game is now available on Xbox platforms.
Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST back in the mainstream media… feels like I’m back in the late 2010s and I couldn’t be any happier to be back.
