Halo fans are bracing themselves for their first look at the next Halo game this month, as Halo Studios has teased an announcement at this year’s Halo Championship Series.
Halo: Infinite was a great game but it had its fair shares of issues, and while the multiplayer has been expanded with plenty of content updates I think many fans would agree that the core Halo experience is still flawed at the moment.
As we wait for this mysterious new project to surface though, Halo players have fallen in love with a new, fan-made game you’ll soon be able to play on PC.
It’s called Spartan Survivors and while it wasn’t developed by Halo Studios the developer has acknowledged and praised it.

To put it simply, Spartan Survivors is basically Vampire Survivors if it was a Halo game. Master Chief stands alone as the last barrier between humanity and destruction as he fends off wave after wave of Covenant forces, but even the mighty go missing in action eventually.
As you progress, you’ll earn power-ups and abilities to aid in your survival, with roguelite elements keeping the gameplay experience fresh as you never know what you’re going to get next.
The full game will include: 10 playable levels, five difficulty modes, 21 weapons, eight playable characters who each get their own unique weapons and abilities, and eventually a Custom Game mode after you’ve played enough.
It sounds fantastic and if you agree and can’t wait to play, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a little bit longer before you dive in.

Spartan Survivors will be launching on Steam on 22 October, only seven days away at the time of writing, so if you want to jump in as soon as it launches, add it to your wishlist asap.
Hopefully, Xbox will acknowledge it and give it an Xbox release, as I’d love to play this on my console.
As for the next official Halo game, we’ve heard a lot of rumours about it. Apparently it’ll be a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved with modernised features such as the dread sprint. Personally I could take or leave sprint but as a Halo fan, I know that’ll be a dealbreaker for many players out there.
We’ll learn more when the Halo Championship Series kicks off this month on 24 October, when the future of the Halo franchise will be laid bare for all to see.
