6 Beloved GTA Mini Games That Could Return in GTA 6

GTA VI will keep us busy!

One of the best things about the Grand Theft Auto series is its fun mini-games, and we do not doubt that GTA VI will be no exception.

No matter the entry in the Rockstar Games series, Grand Theft Auto can keep us endlessly entertained. Not only with its huge single-player campaign, but also its fun side-story missions, NPC interactions, secrets to discover and more.

Outside of the structured activities, fun can also be found in doing mundane tasks such as cruising the streets and seeing the sights. And yes, that includes you, who strictly abide by the traffic laws and stop at the red light.

That being said, the topic of today’s article is about all those hours that we’ve spent playing GTA’s additional modes and mini-games.

Before we proceed, I could have mentioned every single one of the favourites, but I aim to finish this article at some point. So, I’ll just try to restrict it to 6 modes/features that I would love to see return in GTA VI.

Unique Stunt Jumps

These were required for 100% completion

The Banshee in GTA III

I remember trying to track all of the Unique Stunt Jumps when they appeared in GTA III. When you did find one, preferably when driving a Banshee, Cheetah, Infernus or Stinger, you’d get a big run up, hit stop speed, and when you hit the ramp, your car would fly dramatically in slow-motion before you gradually thump to the ground. They were a lot of fun and have been a mainstay for the series since 2001.

RC Bandit Racing

Miniature racing is so much fun!

Who doesn't love racing a miniature remote control car? It doesn't matter if it's in real life or in a video game; this activity will always take me back to my childhood. RC Bandit Racing was a blast in GTA: Vice City, whizzing those little cars around the dirt track, competing against other NPCs. If his mini-game returns in GTA VI, I will be a happy man.

Casinos in Single-Player

It's time to go all in!

Despite not being a gambling man in real life, I love playing card games in the likes of GTA: San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption and the Yakuza series. In particular, I lost so many hours in the San Andreas casinos, as well as betting on horse races at the ‘Inside Track Betting Shops’. Casinos have been made a big deal in the most recent iteration of GTA Online, and I think it’s about time they returned with the GTA VI single-player campaign.

Darts, Pool and Bowling

Just please, no Roman!

The game of pool was a blast to play in GTA: San Andreas, and along with darts and bowling, so was it in GTA IV. These common but enjoyable mini-games desperately need to return in GTA VI. I swear, playing video game versions of these past-times are more fun than in real life, or is that just me? I just hope that should they return, Roman Belic’s long-lost cousin doesn't join us for the ride.

Dynamic Body Changes

It's a lifestyle choice!

Yes, I’m mentioning it again, GTA: San Andreas. But to be fair, this is arguably the best game in the series. Another aspect that I loved in this game was taking CJ to the gym to bulk up by lifting weights and boosting his stamina on the treadmill. However, we could make CJ obese if we wanted to be cruel, giving him nothing but no exercise and a junk food diet. Either way, I’d love to have this dynamic mechanic in GTA VI, because it will be fun to see what the community does to Jason and Lucia.

5/6

Golf and Tennis

There's just something therapeutic about it

GTA V is such a fulfilling game with so much to offer that it can be easy to forget that it has mini-games like golf and tennis. The Los Santos Golf Club had nine fun holes to take on, each being a little more challenging than the last. If, for whatever reason, you got bored with golf, you could jump into a golf cart to run over unsuspecting NPCs. Hey, it’s GTA we’re talking about here, not Animal Crossing! Who knows, in GTA VI, perhaps we’ll get more courses to play across the map.

Then we have tennis, which, much like golf, is oddly therapeutic. Pinging the ball over the net, wearing your best tennis clobber, is pure joy as time passes you by and you totally forget that you have a high-stakes heist to partake in. What’s funny about golf and tennis in GTA V is that I can’t stand either sport in real life!

6/6

Will any of these modes or mini-games make it into the next release? Only time will tell. But if only two or three make the cut, I’d be more than happy with that. Do let us know what minigames you’d love to see in GTA VI.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. At the time of writing, Rockstar Games hasn't announced the PC port.
