The latest Take-Two Interactive earnings call took place last night, bringing, well, very little we didn't already know about GTA VI news. Sorry - no trailer this time!
It’s no secret that the most highly anticipated game of 2026 is the arrival of GTA VI. Which should come as no surprise, because anytime a new game is released in the Grand Theft Auto series, it’s always a huge event in the video game industry.
Hype for GTA VI has been building long before Rockstar Games released the first trailer in December 2023, with rumours continually making the social media rounds, not to mention those infamous gameplay leaks, taken from a very early build of the game
GTA VI Hype is Real!
Since that initial reveal just over two years ago, GTA VI has been delayed on more than one occasion, and fans will be hoping that its current release date refuses to budge.
On the topic of the upcoming earnings call from Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-Two Interactive, fans are hoping that we’ll be treated to the third GTA VI trailer. That being said, we should at some point get at least one more trailer, showcasing the new iteration of GTA Online.

Ahead of what may or may not come out of that Take-Two earnings call, here are some of the rumours that we hope will eventually come true:
5. Dual Protagonists
We know that GTA VI features two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, said to be inspired by the historical crime duo, Bonnie and Clyde.
It’s not been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games yet, but we’ll be hoping that each will be playable, whether we can switch characters on the fly or if it's for certain segments in the game.
After all, GTA V did such a great job with its three playable protagonists, Michael, Trevor and Franklin. So I see no reason why GTA VI can’t have two.

4. Multiple Islands to Explore
We know that we’ll be returning to Vice City in GTA VI, the home of GTA: Vice City. However, no other locations have been confirmed yet. There have been rumours that we may be returning to Liberty City, the location of GTA III or even some regions of South America, such as Brazil.
At this time, the other locations are mere hearsay, but if at least one of those locations is confirmed to be true, GTA VI could easily be the biggest game in the series, in terms of scale.
3. More Buildings Will Be Enterable
No matter how big each game in the Grand Theft Auto series is, there aren't many buildings that we can enter. Yet, according to another rumour, GTA VI will have over 700 buildings that we can enter.
With the rumours of locations outside of Central America, and all these buildings reportedly entering, the size of GTA VI could be beyond our wildest dreams. Not to oversell it, or anything.
2. Unmarked Police Cars
No matter the GTA game, cop cars stick out like a sore thumb, and that’s without the blue and red flashing lights. In GTA VI, it’s rumoured that the cops will be a lot more sneaky. A leak claims that GTA VI will have unmarked police cars. This one might have an ounce of truth to it, I wouldn't be surprised. Whether it’s the general police or government agents remains to be seen. But those high-speed cop chases might be about to get a lot more intense!
1. Physical Sales Might Be Delayed
Perhaps the biggest rumour, at least when it comes to us inpatient folk, is that GTA VI might suffer yet another delay. At this point, the game has already suffered multiple delays, but rather than pushing the game back entirely, Rockstar Games is reportedly considering pushing back physical copies to prevent leaks courtesy of retailers selling copies early. However, during a recent earnings call, Take-Two Interactive confirmed that physical copies of GTA VI will not be delayed. The rumour was false.
At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
