Well this has certainly brightened my Friday. Gen V, the excellent new spin-off of Prime Video’s The Boys, has been renewed for a second season.

The show has kicked off with a bang. Quite literally, in fact. A penis did explode just the other week. The ‘outrageous’ scene left fans both floored and in fits of laughter. It’s exactly why we love The Boys universe so much. Gen V incorporates so much that we adore about The Boys that it’s no surprise the series debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 100%. The most recent episode did so much more than channel The Boys’ energy though. A classic character made a comeback, although I’m not going to spoil who. Today though, we’re here to celebrate the news that Gen V is returning for a second season.

Take a look at Gen V in action below.

We’ll be heading back to Godolkin University for another round of mischief and chaos. Gen V is still in the midst of airing its first season, which is set to conclude on 3 November. Prime Video are so impressed with fan’s response though that they’ve granted the series an early renewal. A huge win.

Over on the Gen V Twitter account, the news was announced: “Attention all God U students, Gen V is officially coming back for season two.” It was accompanied by a short video of all the cast cheering in celebration. Gen V stars Lizze Broadway, Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, Chance Perdomo, and Patrick Schwarzenegger amongst others.

If you’re yet to dive into the spin-off, the synopsis reads, “Gen V explores the first generation of superheroes to know that their super powers are from Compound V. These heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test competing for the school's top ranking.” You won’t regret diving in.
