Star Wars: The Acolyte new release finally explains who the show's title was referring to

Wasn't it kind of obvious?

The recent release, Star Wars: The Acolyte Visual Guide, points to plenty of tidbits of information left hanging by the show, including whom the title was referring to.

It’s been a while now since the show was unceremoniously cancelled by Disney, but fans who watched along were desperate to see more from the history of Star Wars.

Due to said cancellation, we were left with dangling plot threads, cameos unfulfilled, and story beats put on pause.

The book that accompanies the show has revealed much more, and over on Twitter, a passage was highlighted to confirm what we all thought, the acolyte of the title was Osha, and not her sister Mae.

This may seem obvious to anyone who watched the show, but at least we now have the confirmation written out for all to see.

“Osha forges a deal with the Stranger,” the passage reads.

It continues on, “He will free Mae from his vendetta by wiping her memory of their presence, ridding her of deadly secrets. In exchange, Osha commits to the Stranger, vowing to become his acolyte.”

We’ll never know what happens next because the internet got in a tizzy and the show was canned, leaving Darth Plagueis staring out of his gooner cave, and Yoda just chilling in the Jedi temple.

It’s a shame that a book has to fill in the details that were being laid in the show, but hopefully Marvel Comics will pick up the threads one day and finish the story.

Or perhaps a novel will come out and round out the adventure, because we sure as hell won’t be getting a new season.

Star Wars fans have to make do with what we’ve got, which in this instance is not very much, but hey, at least we know exactly who the acolyte was.
