Star Wars: The Acolyte Lives On, Disney Plans Epic New Release

A fine addition to your collection

Star Wars: The Acolyte, despite its flaws, deserved better. But at least you can own a piece of it through Disney’s latest release.

One of the absolute highlights of Star Wars: The Acolyte was Qimir, also known as The Stranger. Played by Manny Jacinto who’s said they’d be more than up for reprising their role in the future, Qimir was a rogue Jedi and a very cool one at that.

His standout features aside from his physique included a double-blade lightsaber which could be split in half. One half is a standard length lightsaber whereas the other is a shorter, shoto blade which he uses for sneak attacks and close-range encounters. He also wears a helmet made of cortosis, a special metal that can deflect a lightsaber strike. At one point Qimir even headbutts an incoming lightsaber swipe, disabling the weapon for a short time.

Disney is now preparing to release his unique lightsaber as a new collectible, perfect for Star Wars fans looking to expand their hilt collection. I’d assume they’d also include a blade like any other replica.

Qimir’s weapon will be released alongside Baylan Skoll’s lightsaber, seen in the Ahsoka series. Baylan’s functions like any other lightsaber but emits a more orange/red blade colour to stand out from other dark side wielders.

Both lightsabers will be available to purchase on the official Disney store from 17 November onwards, but I’d act fast if I were you as I’d imagine they’ll sell out pretty quick.

The future of The Acolyte and Ahsoka

As stated earlier The Acolyte is pretty much finished. Its story is being somewhat continued/expanded in novels but there likely won’t be anymore on-screen appearances of its characters.

It’s a shame because it really could have benefitted from just one more season, as some interesting plot points were set up in the series finale.

Ahsoka on the other hand is still going strong. Despite not blowing audiences away it performed quite well on Disney+ and garnered a lot of viewers when it welcomed back Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.

Season 2 is currently in the works and is expected to release sometime in 2026 provided there are no delays.

The Acolyte was done dirty, there’s no doubt about it, but for those who genuinely liked the show and its characters the upcoming release of Qimir’s lightsaber makes for the perfect collectable to cement your love of the now dead series.
