It may have been unceremoniously cancelled after just one season, but Star Wars The Acolyte still has a dedicated legion of fans behind it who may just love this upcoming release.
Airing for the first time back in June 2024, The Acolyte was another of Disney+ dives into the world of Star Wars, telling the story of a former Padawan who teams up with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes and the emergence of a new Sith Lord.
Starring The Hunger Games Amandla Stenberg, Squid Games Lee Jung-jae and The Good Place Manny Jacinto, the show aired for just eight episodes before it was cancelled shortly after its finale.
Despite the majority of viewers seemingly liking what they saw, it unfortunately seemed as though viewership was not up to scratch and we are cursed to never know how the story would have panned out.

Well, it is not all doom and gloom as a brand new release inspired by The Acolyte is set to be released in the new year.
It may not be a second season as many of us would hope but it is equally as exciting.
It is The Art of The Acolyte by Kristin Baver, an official art book featuring “production art, character and vehicle designs, planets, storyboards, and other ephemera created during the production of the hit Disney series.
The book was showcased at the recent New York Comic Con with attendees able to get a glimpse at some of the images and concept art that are included within the book.

This includes concept art of the iconic Stranger’s mask, storyboards for some of the epic battles, armour, locations, and much more.
Not only that but The Art of The Acolyte will even feature interviews with some of the key creatives on the team so you can get an insight into how they approached various aspects of the show.
A special preview of some pages can be found here alongside all of the other Star Wars books that are set to be released over the next year or so.
The Art of The Acolyte is set to be released on 13 January 2026 and features cover art by Kevin Jenkins and a foreword from series writer Leslye Headland.

This may not be news of a second season of The Acolyte but with many of its cast and crew saying “never say never”, we do not know what the future brings.
Hopefully it brings a renewal.
