Star Wars 'darkest secret' has been staring us in the face for years

Something wicked has been lurking

Secrets are everywhere in Star Wars, however, this latest revelation may be the darkest to be uncovered thus far.

As Star Wars fans devour every morsel related to the franchise, more secrets are coming to the surface to help us piece together its ever-expanding lore.

Recently, we uncovered the truth about Anakin’s “true father”, though many fans may have quietly missed this detail due to its subtlety.

The Acolyte cast tell you what it's like to get your own lightsaber.

Prepare yourselves for more shocks, as it turns out that Coruscant’s manipulation by the Sith ran far deeper than initially realised.

This “secret” is revealed in Convergence, a novel by Zoraida Córdova, in which the multiple levels of the planet are discussed, seemingly in a throwaway comment. However, that single sentence hints at the way the Sith have been able to conceal their plans.

“There are ruins in the lowest levels, but it's uninhabitable,” a character mentions when talking about the lowest levels of the city thus suggesting the Sith may have lurked there.

Given how skilfully Palpatine hid his nefarious intensions, it's possible that he utilised these forgotten environments to his advantage, some of which may linger decades on.

It’s an interesting theory, and one that’s never been fully explored, much like the lower levels themselves.

With the release of The Acolyte, a show that delves deeper into Star Wars lore, we can but hope that other tales will emerge that open up these shadowy, closed off areas.

Though we can’t help but wonder if fans will attempt to review bomb those stories too, only to find out that they’re targeting the wrong film entirely? It sounds ridiculous, yet it’s not out of the realms of possibility for this fandom.

One day, more light will shine on these dark secrets. But not just yet...
