The future of Star Wars is looking bright as the franchise goes from strength to strength with the arrival of brand-new projects in the pipeline.
Thanks to Lucasfilm’s output on Disney+ over recent years, multiple Star Wars projects have been met with critical acclaim.
Well, its television shows have at least, as it seems as though the Star Wars movies have taken a bit of a backseat since the sequel trilogy wrapped up with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

However, plans to bring the movies back to the forefront are in action as a handful of films are currently in the works.
There is Star Wars: Starfighter, starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Shawn Levy, which is slated for 2027, as well as Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s movie about the New Jedi Order featuring the return of Daisy Ridley.
However, it is Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi that fans believe has the most potential.
Directed by James Mangold, little is known about this upcoming movie other than that it will follow the first ever Jedi and will take place 25,000 years before the earliest project on the Star Wars timeline.

However, as reported by ComicBook, a recently released galaxy map gives us a clue about the conflict that Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi will focus on.
According to this image, the new movie will feature the species known as the Rakatans which have not yet had a live-action appearance.
They reside on the planet Rakata Prime, an area which has previously been explored in Dark Horse Comics.

The name may also be familiar to Andor fans as Luthen mentioned the race back in season one. He reveals that they are terrifying monsters that enslaved many people across the galaxy so it is no doubt that this will make an interesting plot point in Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi.
Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi does not yet have a release date but it is definitely one to keep an eye on.
