Stardew Valley gets wild Cyberpunk-style ‘expansion’

Zuzu City is open for all

Stardew Valley has just got a very wild cyberpunk-inspired expansion that you can download now.

You know the drill by now. Stardew Valley is old enough, and popular enough, that it’s inspired many modders to come up with their own expansions and mods to extend the game’s content.

I mean, at 9 years old, the game has enough content to become everyone’s “forever game”, but that hasn’t stopped some madlads from making mods to support the game beyond that.

Neon Zuzu City is an expansion by Stardew modder GimmeTheZzz which transforms the game with a cyberpunk-inspired layer.

Zuzu City is the bustling metropolis that exists near to Pelican Town. While you can’t actually visit the city without mods, numerous references are made to it over the course of the game. It can also be seen from afar during select moments of the game.

Neon Zuzu City makes a part of the city explorable, while giving it a cyberpunk-style makeover, with new NPCs and shops to visit.

“I made an effort to keep the art style close the original while giving it a cyberpunk atmosphere,” writes mod creator GimmeTheZzz.

“Future updates will add new dialogues, events, items, and more. This is a temporary test version, so some NPCs may not be able to accept gifts yet.”

To access the Neon Zuzu City mod, you’ll need to go to Central Station after installing it and reach the city via the train.

It shouldn’t interfere with any mods that alter the town map or events, and is pretty standalone in that regard.

However, as with all video game modding, be aware that using them can sometimes pose risks to your save.

Be sure to back it up before installing the mod, and try to keep it separate from your modded save.
