The Legend of Zelda fans are united over what they’d like to see for its first adventure on the newly released Nintendo Switch 2.

Without question, The Legend of Zelda series is one of Nintendo’s most popular properties, ever since it made its debut on the humble NES in 1986. But it’s also one of the most beloved franchises of all time, regardless of the platform.

It’s why, when the first brand-new game arrives on the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s going to be a huge deal for fans of the series, as well as those who are new. However, at the time of writing, no such game has been announced yet.

For the time being, fans can at least play enhanced versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. But when the inevitable Nintendo Switch 2 game does arrive, what do fans want? A question asked by Redditor, frewbrew.

“I want everything Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom did right: open world, exploration, music, atmosphere,” said 3ehsan. “With improvements upon everything, the most recent entries fell short on such as classic dungeons, story, and combat.”

“I honestly like how they did dungeons in Tears of the Kingdom, or rather, the quests that include the dungeons,” replied RegurgitatedMincer.

“Breath of the Wild is magic. No other open-world game has come close,” exclaimed Nerfo2.

“I wouldn't mind the durability system if the swords made of steel and various other metals didn't break after five hits, " suggested Fox_McCloud_Jr.

Other members of the thread said that they’d love to see something inspired by The Wind Waker, while others would love the next Zelda game to become a graphical and performance powerhouse.

We’ll just have to wait and see what the next Zelda game has in store for us, but either way, it’s sure to be legendary (sorry, not sorry).
