It appears that Marvel Studios is planning a Deadpool and X-Men team-up film for its next saga following the current The Multiverse Saga’s conclusion.
This news comes after it was quietly revealed that one upcoming MCU film has been scrapped.
The ‘Untitled Marvel Event Film’ was due to be a part of Phase Six, releasing sometime in 2027 ahead of Secret Wars.
There were many theories about what it could have been.

Some suspected Marvel was cooking up a secret third Avengers film, whilst others theorised the project might mark the return of Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, or Shang Chi.
Well, whatever it is, it can’t have been too important as it’s been pulled from the schedule and replaced with a new Simpsons film.
Looking further ahead though, we do now have an idea of what Deadpool’s future looks like within the MCU.
Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is reportedly developing a film which would see the merc-with-a-mouth team-up with the X-Men.

The idea is that the film will be a part of the MCU’s next saga; while this remains untitled, it’s long been rumoured that it could be The Mutant Saga that awaits us next.
It’s with that in mind that if this film is real, it’s likely many years away from release.
We’re probably talking about a release window of 2028 or beyond.
The rumour comes from Daniel Richtman, also known as DanielRPK, who took to his Patreon to announce that Reynolds is “making his own mutants team-up movie for next saga”.

That was the extent of the tidbit so it’s hard to say which X-Men we could hypothetically see appear.
It’s perhaps likely that Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine given the immense box office success of Deadpool & Wolverine after what was a tricky period for the MCU.
We know that several Fox era X-Men are slated to return in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday including the likes of Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cummings as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and James Marsden as Cyclops to name a few.
My personal theory is that they’ll be killed off by Doom, making way for the MCU to cast its own X-Men.

You can’t tell me that Kevin Feige isn’t going to want to put his own stamp on things.
What I should say is that you need to take DanielRPK’s leak with a pinch of salt.
Occasionally, he does get things right but on other occasions, ‘leaks’ can feel like a random guess thrown out into the world.
I wouldn’t expect us to find out much more about the next saga ahead of this one’s conclusion; it could spoil the events of Secret Wars which is due to land on 17 December 2027.
