The Marvel Cinematic Universe has found itself in the relative doldrums as of late, with many of their projects not living up to both audience and financial expectations.
As such, they need a big project to right the proverbial ship, and Avengers: Doomsday absolutely has the chops to do that, if they manage to get fans invested in the fate of the heroes and villains once again.
Robert Downey Jr. is making a highly anticipated return as Victor Von Doom, which will certainly go some way to piquing fans interests, while other favourites including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd and Simu Liu are all set to make an appearance in some form.
The only drawback is that we haven't had much in the way of information about the film. With the one year countdown to the release of Avengers: Doomsday almost here, with the date set as 18 December 2026, Marvel's official social media pages have begun to put out cryptic messages, with fans believing the trailer drop is finally imminent.

Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Teased For 7 December
Over on Twitter/X, the official page for the still relatively new Fantastic Four reboot shared a brief clip from the film in which Pedro Pascal's Mister Fantastic says, "Sunday at seven, on the dot." The really weird part is that they keep sharing the same video over and over again, meaning it's definitely something more significant than just promotion for Fantastic Four.
Many have understandably taken that to mean that we're finally getting the first trailer for the film on Sunday at 7pm, though which exact time zone that applies to is unclear.
"On either next Sunday or after that, this is going to get interrupted by Dr Doom, and we will get out first looks image. Calling it now," one comment read.
"One of these days it’s gonna be some transmission from Doom and it’s gonna break the entire internet," another added.
"We have officially entered the Era of Doomsday. It's trailer month, bring it on," a third speculated.
News around what the movie is actually going to be about is still very thin on the ground, with Doctor Doom appearing in a ton of comic storylines over the years that the writers could use as inspiration.
What we do know is that the Fantastic Four will appear heavily, backed by an able crew of other beloved heroes.
