With it still being over a year until Marvel fans can finally flock to cinemas to watch the next Avengers entry, a recent leak has given us quite an extensive look at what we can expect from Avengers: Doomsday’s storyline.
Set to hit cinemas on 18 December 2026, there is still quite a wait for the first Avengers entry since Avengers: Endgame took the world by storm back in 2019.
Welcoming an extensive cast of characters with Robert Downey Jr. at its helm at the next big bad Doctor Doom, Avengers: Doomsday is already shaping up to be an epic Marvel Cinematic Universe entry.
However, with the Russo brothers keeping its contents close to their chest, it remains to be seen how Doctor Doom enters the fray.
Advert
At the time of writing, Downey’s Doctor Doom has already starred in one major Marvel picture: The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Arriving in the end-credit scene, he can be seen talking to Franklin Richards and now, thanks to a recent leak, we may know why.

Shared on Twitter back in October, user Majestic has revealed Doctor Doom’s origin story and how that ties into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it.
According to the leaker, an entity known as He Who Remains is the creator of Earth-616 and regularly rewrites history in order to conceal the truth behind the multiverse.
This rewriting includes turning Victor Von Doom in to Tony Stark as well as influencing other key events in order to prepare for the future multiverse battle.
To He Who Remains, Earth-616 is “pure” and, as a result, Doom was considered too dangerous to exist and hence he was rewritten.
Now as Tony Stark, he had a new life as a superhero with no memory of his past life.
Doom's Plans Unveiled
Everything that has happened in the MCU timeline so far has been due to the inner workings of He Who Remains, including the time-travel Tony uses in Avengers: Endgame as it was always the plan for characters such as Loki to survive.
“The main purpose of He Who Remains was not permanent peace but to prepare for a multiversal war against the Kang variants who betrayed him.”
However, the death of Tony Stark removed a key part of He Who Remains control which, ultimately, led to his death.
As a result, all versions of Doom were released into existence, including the one who will go on to become the antagonist of Avengers: Doomsday.
Furious over being a pawn all his life, Doom wants revenge and to build the multiverse his way even if this means recruiting the help of a young Franklin Reed.
Doom does not want to kill our superheroes, he simply wants to convince them to use their powers to rewrite history his own way.
Whether or not this will come true is another question entirely but it does at least shed some light on Avengers: Doomsday.
However, as always, it is worth taking this leak and subsequent information with a pinch of salt.
