Modern Warfare 4 has launched to a wealth of praise, as the twilight game of this rebooted sub-series has produced the greatest campaign in nearly 20 years of the franchise.
While there have been some questions over how the multiplayer experience stands up alongside the story mode, especially when it comes to the map pool, the game's strong start is expected to continue with Season 1 of the live service model.

Original Modern Warfare 2 receives Australian rating
Long touted to be the greatest Call of Duty game of all time, Modern Warfare 2 could be reintroduced to the limelight as new-gen ports and server support have been speculated on the back of a new rating.
As spotted by Insider Gaming, the Australian Classification Board rated the original Modern Warfare 2 earlier this month.
The beloved title received an R 18+ classification, with the accompanying consumer advice citing high-impact drug use, in-game purchases, online interactivity and chat.
Interestingly, the listing doesn't specify which platforms the game is intended for, instead simply identifying it as a computer game.

Earlier this year, both Black Ops and Black Ops 2 received Australian ratings before eventually making their way to current-generation platforms; These releases weren't full remasters or remakes, but they did bring the classic titles to modern hardware, including PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, alongside some noticeable visual improvements.
Naturally, fans will be hoping Modern Warfare 2 receives similar treatment.

If Activision is planning a current-generation port of the original game, there's a chance that fans could finally get another opportunity to experience the classic release on modern hardware.
That said, Activision has not officially announced any plans for a new version of the game.
For now, all we have is an Australian ratings listing. Still, given what happened with Black Ops and Black Ops 2 earlier this year, it's certainly worth keeping an eye on.
