The future of the Tomb Raider franchise is looking bright following the recent announcement that not one, but two brand-new games are set to release in 2026 and 2027 respectively.
Since its inception way back in 1996, the Tomb Raider franchise has gone from strength to strength thanks to multiple game entries and movies, so much so that its protagonist Lara Croft has become a household name.
Back in 2013, the franchise had something of a remake with the first in the Survivor trilogy arriving and consisting of Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
With the adventure series now back in the limelight, and following rumours that another remake was on the cards, we were finally put out of our misery during this year’s The Game Awards.
Advert
It was here that both Tomb Raider: Catalyst and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.
With Catalyst set to arrive in 2027 and offering a brand-new story and a brand-new Lara, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will arrive just before as a remake of the original 1996 title.
However, a brand-new announcement has also arrived in recent hours.
It has been revealed that 2013’s Tomb Raider is heading to mobile, not long after it finally launched on the Nintendo Switch.
Launching on 12 February, the first entry in the Survivor trilogy will arrive on iOS and Android.

The Mobile Version Arrives Alongside Some Extra Features
Not only that, but the base game will also arrive alongside 12 Tomb Raider DLC packs, providing players with extra upgrades, cosmetics and even a Challenge Tomb to get stuck into, even though Lara “hates tombs” in the Survivor trilogy.
Available to pre-order now, the announcement came alongside a dedicated trailer showcasing what Tomb Raider will look like on a much smaller piece of hardware.
"When a young Lara Croft is shipwrecked on a forgotten island during her first archaeological expedition, her intense fight for survival soon becomes a perilous journey to unravel the island's mysteries," reads the official synopsis.
"Initially armed with nothing but her instincts, Lara must quickly learn how to overcome Yamatai's devious traps and murderous inhabitants to escape its relentless hold."
However, fear not as Tomb Raider has been “expertly optimised” for iOS and Android, featuring a “fully customisable touchscreen interface” which will allow players to “mix puzzle-solving with intense combat with ease”, according to developer Feral Interactive.
Coming in at £12.99/$19.99/€15.99, Tomb Raider is available to pre-order on your mobile store now ahead of its launch on 12 February 2026.
