PlayStation Plus users are being urged to check out this free puzzle game that was recently added to the service.

In January, PlayStation added a massive nine new games to the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers, meaning all active subscribers can pick up games including the likes of Resident Evil Village, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and Darkest Dungeon 2.

PlayStation Plus players can also grab The Exit 8 for free, a short horror puzzle game that is one of the more interesting indie games to come out in the last few years.

Developed and published by Kotake Create, The Exit 8 is a game played from first-person perspective where you walk through a Japanese metro tunnel in a continuous loop, where you must identify “anomalies” in order to escape.

These anomalies can be harmless inaccuracies, such as floor tiles not matching or doors disappearing, to more sinister details like creepy images appearing on the wall and lights immediately going out.

Once you’ve identified these anomalies, you’ll need to watch out for them during each loop. If one appears, you need to turn around to progress to the next exit. Do it eight times in a row without making any mistakes, and you’ll successfully beat the game.

The Exit 8 Is A Short, Creepy Experience

Although not strictly a horror game, some of the anomalies are extremely creepy and will unnerve you when trying to identify them.

Overall, it’ll take you a couple of hours to complete and has pretty easy trophies too, simply only requiring you to beat the game and find all anomalies to 100% the game.

“It’s the perfect ps plus game imo. I wouldn’t really care or even know about it otherwise. Let alone buy it and play it,” writes one user on the PlayStation Plus Reddit page. “But it was cool. I kind of want to watch the movie, even though I have no idea how a game like this could be a whole movie.”

“It was amazing fun while it lasted. Loved the mix of obvious and very subtle anomalies,” reads another comment. “Far too short, though. Would have loved to spend a bit longer with it.”

If you’d like to check out The Exit 8, you can do so now on PlayStation 5 with any PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscription.
