If you are anything like me, then you have been trying to catch the high of Cyberpunk 2077 ever since its launch back in 2020.

I yearn for the neon-soaked streets, corrupt CEOs, and holographic lights that make Night City one of the best settings in video game history. I miss my glowing katana and Mantis Blades, the rush of combat and every light on the spectrum invading my senses.

Although there may be quite a wait until we get the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, fear not as another cyberpunk-inspired title has just landed on PlayStation. BlazBlue Entropy Effect is an action roguelike which “sets the bar for fluid fast-paced action”.

Developed by 91Act and released back in February 2024, BlazBlue Entropy Effect is perfect for those looking for a mix between platformers such as Hollow Knight with the vibes and aesthetic of Cyberpunk 2077.

Thanks to action-packed and flashy combat, players will be able to master incredibly satisfying combos with numerous characters to pick from, each boasting their very own playstyle, moves, and upgrades.

As a spin-off of the BlazBlue series, BlazBlue Entropy Effect features an original storyline and setting so it is perfect for both veterans and new fans alike.

With smooth controls, ultra-responsive combat feedback, and dramatic animations, combat will feel like nothing you have ever experienced before and with ten characters to choose from, you can settle on those who match your playstyle perfectly.

“There are hundreds of moves for you to build around, plus countless elemental effects and legacy skills passed between characters.

“The possibilities are infinite. Time to make the best fighter of your own," The official synopsis reads.

“In a future where the world has been plunged into chaos, people enter a cyberspace called ACE, seeking their last chance to resolve the crisis.

“If you were the only person in this world who discovered the actual truth, what would you do? Your decision will decide humanity's future.”

How To Play For Free

Now, PlayStation 5 users will be able to play the first three levels of BlazBlue Entropy Effect for absolutely free ahead of its launch on the console 12 February.

In the demo, players will be able to choose between three characters: Ragna, Es, and Hibiki and descend into the mysterious Sea of Possibility at no cost.

So if you want to check out BlazBlue Entropy Effect ahead of its arrival on PS5 next month, this is the perfect opportunity to do so.
