A new free mod for Fallout 4 has added a brand new quest, featuring new voice acting and other fresh content.
Even though Fallout 4 is over a decade old now, we’re still finding reasons to revisit it while we wait for the next entry.
And this is partly due to the power of modding, where creators have been supplying the game with fresh new content that we can download and use for free.
If you want to squeeze out another hour of new content for Fallout 4, you can now download Padre Mateo, a free quest mod which was released for the game over the weekend.

Padre Mateo is a “new lore-friendly voiced quest” with around an hour of content, which you can start by finding a note in Diamond City on a crate near the Bounty Board.
Finding this note will trigger this quest to activate, at which point you can take things from there.
However, be warned that the recommended level for the quest is 15, so you can’t just start it on a fresh character.
Padre Mateo Is A Bite-Sized Experience For Fallout 4 Which Will Only Take You An Hour To Beat
Mod creator DesmondBeGood has also shared some screenshots of the mod’s content, including a settlement which can be discovered as part of the quest.
Take a look at one of those screenshots below, featuring the new settlement.

With only around an hour of content, it’s a good mod for those who only want a small, bite-sized experience added onto their game.
You're not really losing much if it only takes you an hour to beat, after all.
“Yo this mod is dope,” reads one player's opinion in the comments of the mod. “Without spoiling anything, the new assets are really cool. The dialogue/voice acting/audio quality feels just like it's from the vanilla game. The placement of worldspace edits fit right into some empty areas seamlessly and the new interior locations feel appropriately cluttered and 'lived' in.”
If you’d like to download the Padre Mateo mod and check it out for yourself, you can download it for the PC version of Fallout 4 over on Nexus Mods.
It sounds like it’d go well with other Fallout 4 mods we’ve covered lately, such as the Level Cap Alternative mod which removes the ability to level up, giving you a fresh challenge where you have to contend with high level enemies.
