If you feel like you need a reason to jump into Starfield again, but there’s nothing currently pulling you back to the game, then the community has just the right recommendation for you.

Bethesda gets a lot of stick for the way Starfield turned out.

Sorry, that was the end of that sentence. Unfortunately, Starfield wasn’t didn’t end up being the “Fallout but in space” we all hoped, but thankfully, mods are a thing.

Uh, although, saying that… today’s example doesn’t technically qualify as a mod, as it’s part of Bethesda’s Creations program.

That’s a fancy way of saying that it’s essentially a mod that you pay for. But hey, whoa– don’t close the article just yet, because folks online say this one is worth the Creations credits (or whatever it is that Bethesda charges for these things).

Watchtower is a Creations mod for Starfield by author kinggath_creations. It pits you against the eponymous Watchtower group, who are currently hunting down some poor soul (who you are tasked with protecting).

So, is it really so good that it’s worth shelling out real money for it? The folks on r/Starfield seem to think so.

“Fantastic mod. It just keeps going after final mission. Hopping around the two planets in Katydid system (far south on star map, new to the mod I think) and getting many random encounters with Listening Posts,” commented user Dense_Win1065.

“One had spacers all over it and Watchtower attacking with two drop pods and a destroyed AI mech was close by with all its loot. I just jumped in and starting shooting them all.”

“Yes, I absolutely agree. Watchtower is on such a high level that it feels like an outsourced DLC,” replied user Teriantropo.

“I'm still in the early stages of the story, but it's making me appreciate Starfield again"

"Now exploring some systems makes sense because they're hostile and you know the faction is hunting you down. That’s exactly the kind of motivation I’ve been asking for over the past year and a half.”

You know, this does look pretty cool, but cool enough that I’d be willing to both reinstall Starfield and pay real money for it? Probably not.

Besides, that rumoured “ultimate edition” is supposed to come out at some point in the future.

If that ends up being anything like the Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, a lot of these Creation Club missions will probably be included in it for free.
