The Elder Scrolls 6 'boring' setting defended by fans who know the lore

Elder Scrolls VI is already being defended by diehard fans, because of the setting

The Elder Scrolls VI is taking players to Hammerfell, and fans are ruthlessly defending that decision from fans who think it’ll be a boring location.

For those who aren’t aware, the next Elder Scrolls game will be a stark contrast from previous entries, taking place in the desert-y area of Hammerfell, quite boring at first glance but one rich with history and lore.

Some fans have taken issue with Bethesda’s choice of location, believing it’ll be another boring video game desert with nothing to see or do.

It’s not entirely a desert landscape mind you, but it is a big part of the area, and Reddit user ffylgijaear in addition to other fans have done their best to persuade the sceptics it’ll have more to offer than endless sand dunes.

The post read “‘Hammerfell will be boring because it's all just desert’ Deserts are more than vast sand dunes, and there's more to Hammerfell than the Alik'r. I hope this helps.”

Other fans agreed, with one pointing out that “Hammerfell literally has deserts, tropical jungles, savannahs, prairies, temperate areas and even the northernmost area looks like Skyrim's Reach.”

Another added that the “people saying that are just not understanding Hammerfell. It is not just desert.”

One fan even pointed out how “Fallout New Vegas is in the Mojave desert” and no one seemed to mind.

To be fair the past few years have yielded some impressive video game deserts, just look at the Gerudo desert in Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, or Egypt in Assassin’s Creed Origins, they can be very fun if designed well.

Hopefully we get an actual look of The Elder Scrolls VI’s world sooner rather than later, as Bethesda is yet to show us any official gameplay at the time of writing.
